  1. Hi Larissa and Vicki,

I just wanted to tell you (again) how much I look forward to your podcasts each week. Your topics are interesting relevant to all vegans/vegetarians. I can’t imagine the work that goes into putting each podcast together but your efforts are truly appreciated. I listen to your podcasts over and over as the chemistry and banter between you two is fun to listen to. 🙂

Thank you for all of your efforts – your message is making a difference.

    • Hi Erin,

I’m so glad to hear from you! It’s always nice to hear from our Veg Zenners that we are providing valuable information. It does take work to put together each episode, but it is a labor of love, and we ALWAYS learn new things! Thanks so much for your support…it just wouldn’t be fun if we didn’t have such a great listener family behind us.

      Peace & Veggies,

  2. Hi Vickie and Larissa!
I love your show and enjoy your friendly manner- I eagerly listen each episode as I am currently vegetarian/vegan “with a small V”( to quote Mollie Katzen).
Vickie, I recently listened to another podcast that I think you would find fascinating. The Sept. 24th episode of The Main Street Vegan , entitled, “Live from London”, interviews elite vegan marathon runner/titleist Fiona Oakes. Her story is really fascinating. For instance, she became a vegan as a young child, against her family’s influence. She says she doesn’t like to run, but only does it to bring attention to veganism to help animals( she runs a large animal sanctuary.) She also holds multiple titles, including the fastest marathon time inside the Article Circle! I think you would really enjoy this episode and find it motivating!
    Keep up the good work:)

    • Hi Jan, it’s so nice to hear from you. Glad you are enjoying our podcast! Thanks so much for passing along the info about the interview of Fiona Oakes on The Main Street Vegan. I’ll definitely share it with Vickie. If there are any topics you’d like to hear us discuss, please let us know. We love hearing from our listeners…you guys are the main reason we do the podcast!! If you haven’t connected with us on Facebook and Twitter, please come on over and join our community. We have so many great Veg Zenners! Thanks again, and please do keep in touch.

      Peace & Veggies,

  3. Good morning guys! I just stumbled across your podcasts just this week and I am officially HOOKED! It’s a catch 22- I feel bad because I’m so late in discovering Vegetarian Zen, yet excited that I don’t have to wait for a podcast since I’m starting from the begining….#WINNING! (lol!) I’ve been pescetarian/mainly plant based now since February of this year. However, I’m craving the release of seafood more and more to be strictly vegetarian- but ‘at my own pace’ 🙂 This podcast is SO down to earth, relatable, informative, and warm. You all’s honest and humble nature and perspective is so refreshing! I congratulate you on your veggie lifestyle journey and business success, you two are truly my motivators- keep it coming!!!
    ‘Peace Out’! 😉

    • Hi there, AC!!

We’re so glad you found us! Thank you for all of your kind words. The whole reason we started Vegetarian Zen is because we knew that there must be more people out there who feel as we do…that living a plant-based lifestyle should not be an “all-or-nothing” proposition, and that even small actions are important. The most important thing is to listen to your body and to your heart, right?

Thanks again for listening, and for reaching out to us. Please do keep in touch and let us know how your vegetarian journey is progressing!

      Peace & Veggies,

  4. Larissa and Vicki!

I listen to you guys on my commute to school in the morning. I go to University many miles away from my town, and it always relaxes me to listen to you guys chatting/giggling away on very educational information! When I have a really stressful day, listening to your podcast while I’m cooking, or commuting really helps me to de-stress. I’ve been a reducitarian/vegan for about 4 months now, and I don’t think I’ll ever look back. My sister and I absolutely love love love your podcast and attitude on the lifestyle. You guys are accepting, warm, and silly which is always so refreshing. Keep on going on what you are doing, I look forward to all of the podcasts coming up! Love from New Jersey <3!

    • Hi Sae-Young!

Thanks so much for your kind words. We’re very glad you’ve found the podcast and have joined us in the Peas & Carrots! Please do keep in touch and let us know if there is anything you would like to hear us discuss (or just stop by and say hi!).

      Peace & Veggies,

  5. Hi Girls:

Well, this is a waste of my typing but there was something I was going to ask you to consider for a podcast but I’m darned if I can remember what it is. It will come to me at some point and I’ll add it then. You know how it is, or maybe you don’t… something will come into your head and then go right out the other side a few seconds later. LOL Sorry.

    • Oh Andrea, that happens to me all the time!!! Once you remember, definitely let us know. 🙂

  6. Hi Vickie and Larissa,
I found your podcast as I was driving back and forth to the hospital last week. My mom has just been diagnosed with carcinoid tumors, which don’t respond to radiation or chemotherapy.
Sitting in the hospital with her after her 5 hour abdominal surgery I was determined to immerse myself with as much nutritional knowledge as I possibly could to help her come home, get well, and get strong enough again to keep enjoying life as long as possible. I was really just looking for a podcast to help support me as I walked with my mom into what was ahead. I’m a yoga teacher and I’ve read a lot about the health benefits of a vegan diet, and also the Zen in your title made me smile. 🙂
As I began listening to Vegetarian Zen I felt a connection to both of you instantly. Not only is the information you share relevant and helpful, it also felt like I had two friends in the car with me as I drove back and forth to the hospital each day. It gave me hope for what lied ahead and when I shared with my mom about making a plan to treat the cancer nutritionally it gave her hope too.
I had to write to you and let you know what an encouragement listening to you is every day is. The work you are doing is important and good.
    Om Suraya-ya Namaha!
    – Shelly

    • Hi Shelly,

First of all, I’m so sorry to hear that your mom is going through such a trying experience (and you as well, as her loving daughter and support system).

Second, I’m so glad you found us and that you reached out personally. Above and beyond the information we share on the podcast, we have made it our mission to create a community in which everyone feels supported, accepted, and loved. I hope we can do this for you and your mom as well.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if there is anything specific you’d like to hear us discuss on the podcast. We love listener suggestions! If you’re on Facebook, I hope you will join our closed group, the Peas and Carrots Society. You will find it here:

Please do keep in touch and let us know how your mom is progressing, and how you’re holding up.

      Take good care,
