Main Street Vegan is right in line with the way we think here at Vegetarian Zen. While we are not full-time vegans and we may never be, we can easily identify with Ms. Moran’s concept of normal, everyday people being vegans in the real world.
I love that there is a recipe at the end of each chapter, related to the chapter’s contents. I also love that the chapters are short and engaging, and that Ms. Moran starts the reader off at the beginning of the vegan’s journey. The first two chapters are titled “Decide That You Can Do This” and “Start Where You Are”.
While some chapters, like “Know the Beings Behind Bacon and Burgers” do contain some graphic information about the way animals are treated in factory farms, it is presented in a non-confrontational manner. You can easily choose to read or not read these parts.
Some of the yummy-sounding recipes are Lentil-Spud Burgers, Neat Loaf, Mock Tuna Salad, and My Mom’s Wacky Cake.
Visit the Main Street Vegan website for more information about Ms. Moran and the Main Street Vegan community.

Even though we are not full-time vegans, […]

Some people may be fine with a quick change, however. Same thing goes for transitioning from a vegetarian to vegan lifestyle. It may be that you’re […]
