Conscious Consumerism with Adriane Marie of HEALabel (VZ 374)

//  by Vickie Velasquez

Conscious Consumerism Is On The Rise!

Conscious consumerism is something that Larissa and I are very passionate about. We believe that we, as consumers, have a right to full transparency about the products we buy.

We’ve done a couple of podcast episodes on this topic, including Don’t Be Fooled by Deceptive Labels and How to Read Food Labels.

In this episode of the Vegetarian Zen podcast, we’re chatting with Adriane Marie, founder of HEALabel, an awareness initiative that aims to improve consumer transparency by shedding light on our purchases.

In addition to talking to Adriane about HEALabel, we’ll also be talking to her about her new self-published children’s book, The Roots of our Food.

Adriane wrote, illustrated, and narrated this book and we are looking forward to talking to her about her inspiration for creating it.

Who is Adriane Marie

Adriane is the creator of HEALabel (short for Health, Environment, Animals, Laborers label), an awareness initiative that aims to improve consumer transparency by shedding light on our purchases (especially food) about the impact they have on animals, people, and the planet.

Adriane is a gluten-free, plant-based vegan. She has been vegan for approximately 4 years and was vegetarian for approximately 10 years before that. Her motivation for living a plant-based lifestyle is primarily animal welfare-related.

In November 2020 Adriane wrote, illustrated, narrated, and self-published a children’s book called The Roots Of Our Food, which is available on Amazon.

The Roots Of Our Food: A Kids Book About Healthy Eating & Food From Farm to Table (Conscious Kids Collection) Kindle Edition

Adriane grew up in Kentucky but has traveled around the world and has lived in Germany, Australia, and Turkey. In her free time, she enjoys plant-based cooking, photography, getting outdoors, and studying language.
