What’s in season at any given time of year depends on where you live. In the United States alone, there are six growing regions (South, Southwest, Midwest, Upper Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and Northeast), each with distinct climates, soils, and threats from pests and disease. Then there are all of the non-US places where foods can grow that gardeners in the States can only dream about growing!
That said, there are many fruits and vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots, beans, cherries, berries, and peaches (to name but a few) that are growing now in multiple regions.
In July across North America, here’s a good sampling of what you’ll find at farmers markets and in backyard gardens:
