1. Xi Lan Hua

This is actually a very familiar vegetable…xi lan hua is the Mandarin word for broccoli! It’s loved for its crunchy texture and health benefits, including being a good source of vitamin C and fiber. Broccoli is a common ingredient in many Asian dishes.

2. Xi Yang Cai (or Xi Yang Ca)

Also known as Western lettuce, this leafy green is commonly used in Chinese cuisine. It’s often stir-fried with garlic or served in soups. The tender leaves and mild taste make it a staple in Asian markets.

3. Xiang Chun

The Chinese Toon tree’s leaves and shoots are collectively referred to as xiang chun. They have a strong onion-like flavor and are widely used in Chinese dishes, including stir fries, cold tofu salads, and scrambled eggs.
